Consumidor:

Los inhibidores de la transcriptasa inversa, didanosina (ddI), zalcitabina (ddC), estavudina (d4T) y lamivudina (3TC), puede causar pancreatitis. La incidencia es generalmente baja, pero es de aproximadamente 7% con ddI, y hasta un 15% en los pacientes pediátricos dado 3TC. Los pacientes con antecedentes de factores de riesgo para la pancreatitis, tales como el abuso de alcohol o hipertrigliceridemia, deben ser estrechamente vigilados durante el tratamiento con estos agentes. La terapia debe suspenderse en los primeros signos o síntomas sugestivos de pancreatitis (p. ej., náuseas, vómitos, dolor abdominal, hyperamylasemia con disglucemia, aumento de triglicéridos, disminución de calcio en el suero), y preferiblemente interrumpe permanentemente si pancreatitis clínica se desarrolla.
