La aplicación tópica de medicamentos anti-inflamatorios no esteroideos (Aine) son absorbidos sistémicamente, con el potencial para la producción de raro, pero clínicamente significativo de efectos sistémicos. Los aines han demostrado para inhibir de forma reversible la adhesión y agregación plaquetaria y puede prolongar ligeramente el tiempo de sangrado en los individuos sanos. Estos efectos pueden ser más pronunciados en pacientes con antecedentes de anormalidades hemostáticas. La trombocitopenia también ha sido reportado en raras ocasiones durante el uso de AINE. La terapia con ocular de los Aine deben administrarse con precaución en pacientes con importantes sangrado activo o diátesis hemorrágica, incluyendo la hemostasia y/o defectos de coagulación asociados con hemofilia, deficiencia de vitamina K, hypoprothrombinemia, trombocitopenia, thrombocytopathy, o insuficiencia hepática grave.
